A new company launches in Lingfield as a result of the pandemic

Jayne Webb from Southover Design is focusing her 20 years of design expertise into a new company to assist with something many of us will be newly experiencing, working from home. Now Working From Home Limited, specialises in fulfilling the office requirements of the home worker. With home working looking to be implemented long term, short term solutions such as your kitchen table will no longer suffice. Slow WiFi, uncomfortable chairs and unsightly cabling don’t stand a chance with Jayne’s thoughtful and informed design. When working from home you need a space which works and works well, giving you the space to be productive.

What is your experience within the design world? What made you start this new venture?

I have run Southover Design, a residential interior design and home renovations company for over 20 years.  With the increasing number of people now working from home, many of whom may chose to stay working from home when the current restrictions are lifted, I have set up a new design company.

What sort of spaces can you transform?

Whether you are fortunate enough to have a large room to convert into an office, or just a tiny space, we can help you to fulfil your home working needs. It might just be a case of being clever with some Ikea furniture, or designing a fully bespoke custom-made office. No project is too large or too small.

Successful home working isn’t confined to just fitting a desk. It is essential to create the right environment for you to be able to concentrate and feel relaxed.

You only have a tiny space? No problem we can fit home offices under stairs, in alcoves and even in wardrobes. There is always a creative solution to the ‘WFH’ dilemma.

What are the most important things when designing a comfortable workspace?

Consideration should be given to good lighting, an ergonomic chair, storage and of course high-speed connectivity and adequate power points. There is nothing worse than a buffering WIFI in the middle of a Zoom meeting!

Who will be creating and building my workspace?

We have a team of tradespeople with proven track records ranging from carpenters and electricians to decorators and curtain makers who will all work together to ensure that you have a workspace that is both pleasant and productive.
