Lingfield Lights 2022

I hope you enjoyed the Christmas lights, which brightened up the village throughout late November until early January.

Lingfield Day, which obviously depends on these lights, proved another great success when it took place on 26 November.

There were many attractions – Mark Carter from BBC Radio Surrey introduced the event with local children singing carols, fun-fair rides from Bensons, a wide variety of stalls on the High Street in both the Community Centre and Victoria Club and Father Christmas meeting 200 children in the old Cage, whilst the Lingfield Steel Band played to them as they queued by the pond.

We also raised over £1,400 for three charities supporting local people: Age UK, Food Bank and Young Epilepsy.

Comments on Facebook were full of praise for the event, which is organised and supported by local businesses and volunteers. As chair of the Lingfield Chamber of Commerce, I would like to add my personal thanks to all those who dedicated so much time and energy to Lingfield Day, especially those who helped with traffic and other management on the day. It is, I believe, a reminder to all that Lingfield is a great community and place to visit, shop and dine out.
